Saara McEachnie, LICSW, LCSW-C

Saara McEachnie, LCSW-C, LICSW, is the Director of Adoption Programs at The Barker Adoption Foundation, where she leads the Domestic Infant, Project Wait No Longer (older child adoption from foster care), and International Adoption Programs. Since joining Barker in 2018, Saara has brought almost two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors of child welfare, having served in Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

An expert in interstate adoptions, Saara has also co-authored research and initiatives aimed at supporting families parenting children with specialized needs. She is known for her strengths in strategic collaboration, community engagement, and trust-building—skills that she leverages to cultivate impactful partnerships that advance the well-being of children and families.
