Leave a Legacy for Adoption
NCFA recognizes donors who have chosen to include NCFA in their estate plans through the Lou Stern Legacy Society.
The society’s name honors the life’s work of adoption advocate Lou Stern, a co-founder and charter board member of NCFA and a champion for children and families for nearly four decades. Lou believed that there is no greater cause than the right of a child to a permanent, loving family, and as an adoptive parent himself, Lou passionately embraced this work as his life’s calling. Even his final phone call to NCFA, days before his 2017 passing, urged the team to carry on.
Make Adoption Part of your Legacy
Through your membership in the Lou Stern Legacy Society, you will have the opportunity to make a transformational gift on behalf of these children and the families who care for them. A legacy gift to NCFA also offers tax planning advantages while ensuring that your gift is invested in accordance with your wishes.
How to Make a Legacy Gift
Options for leaving a legacy gift to NCFA include:
- A simple bequest that remembers NCFA in your will
- A gift of appreciated stock or real estate
- An insurance policy, IRA, or other financial instrument that designates NCFA as a primary or contingent beneficiary
If you have already included NCFA in your estate plans, please contact us today so that we can properly recognize this special relationship and enroll you in the Society.
If you are still considering your legacy, our staff will work with you to review your options and identify where you can have the most impact on the future of adoption.
