Jennifer Chambers, MD, MPH&TM

Dr. Jennifer Chambers is Medical Director of the Adoption & Foster Care Clinic. She is a board-certified pediatrician with over 25 years of clinical experience. Dr. Chambers is the founder of the original academic-affiliated Adoption Clinic, which opened more than 20 years ago. During that time, she served as the medical director for the clinic and held a faculty position as an associate professor at UAB in the division of General Academic Pediatrics. She currently maintains clinical privileges at the Children’s of Alabama Hospital. Dr. Chambers stepped away from full-time academic medicine to pursue her passion and founded The Adoption and Foster Care Clinic, incorporated in 2023.

Dr. Chambers has decades of experience evaluating and treating children impacted by adoption and foster care. In addition, she has worked in child welfare internationally. She regularly speaks on the topic of adoption and foster care to pediatricians, allied health professionals, schools, adoption agencies, and parent groups, both as an adoptive parent of internationally adopted children and as a healthcare professional working in the adoption and foster care space.
