Adoptive Parent Consultant, Adoptive Family Support Network
Dee and her family live in the West Michigan area. She has 5 children ranging in age from 28 to 11. They are an adoptive family through foster care and kinship. Several of the children have complex medical needs. Dee works as an adoptive parent consultant for Adoptive Family Support Network (AFSN) at D. A. Blodgett/St. John’s where she supports families by providing in person fun events, assisting them in identifying community resources, support groups both for parents and youth, and one to one parent connection through lived experience. In the past, Dee has worked in residential treatment settings for children and youth at St. John’s Home, Bethany Christian Services, Rivendell Youth Center and Green Have Youth Home. She received B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Work from Grand Valley University.
