Janine Osterink

Janine serves as a coordinator and advocate for adoption and racial diversity within her community. Janine grew up as one of just a handful of Korean, transracial adoptees in Western Michigan (two of which were her Korean adoptee sisters). Throughout her childhood and into adulthood, Janine’s passion for bringing support and increased awareness around adoption, as well as the racism that transracial adoptees encounter, led her to begin volunteering and advocating for the transracial adoptees within her community. Her role has focused on creating a safe space, building relationships with and providing support for adoptees and their families. She also advocates for diversity and racial reconciliation within her community to bring increased awareness, empathy and understanding on this topic.
