Director of Counseling & Family Support Services, The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh
As Director of Counseling & Family Support Services, Erika is responsible for overseeing all functions of the Adoption Program, State Wide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) program, county foster care placement services, counseling services and medical social work services for The Children’s Home. Erika also works directly with clients providing pre/post-adoption and infertility counseling sessions and running monthly support groups. Erika began her career as a Birthparent Counselor and has since provided direct services and supervisory roles in working with birthparents, adoptive parents, foster parents, and foster youth. Erika also serves as a trainer for the REACH training collaborative, training prospective foster and adoptive families, and has presented at local, state and national adoption & permanency conferences. Erika earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Social Work through The University of Pittsburgh and obtained her social work license in 2006.
