Eric Curtis

President at Curtis Strategy

Eric Curtis is the founder and CEO of Curtis Strategy whose work is focused on helping nonprofit leaders address their most complex and challenging issues and guiding them in designing and implementing the strategies needed to succeed.

As an adoptee himself, Eric’s life experiences inspired him to give back and to serve others. In 2005 while climbing Mt Denali in Alaska, Eric made the decision to seek out his birth family. After reaching out to Catholic Charities, he was connected with his birth family. The experience of meeting, establishing, and growing a relationship with them deepened Eric’s understanding of himself and was an integral part of his finding his identity both personally and professionally.

In 2008 Eric founded Curtis Strategy with the goal of dedicating his career to assisting nonprofit organizations with making a positive impact on society. With a desire to leverage his experience with nonprofit strategy within the adoption landscape, Eric joined the NCFA Board in 2021 to assist the organization with achieving its mission and vision. Eric is the cochair of the Nominations and Governance Committee and is supporting the Membership Committee with deepening NCFA’s value to its stakeholders.

In addition to serving on the board of directors for National Council For Adoption, Eric’s visionary perspective has earned him opportunities to deliver workshops on nonprofit management and strategy across the country. He has advised healthcare and human services agencies, credit unions, colleges and universities, and professional associations, inspiring them to break the status quo and maximize their strategic impact.

Eric earned his BS in accounting from Norwich University in 1998. He then went on to pursue his MBA from Suffolk University which he completed in 2005.

Eric is happiest spending time with his wife and two sons scuba diving, skiing, or on exciting adventures together.
