National Council For Adoption Launches CEO Search
Alexandria, VA — The National Council For Adoption (NCFA), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of children and strengthening families through adoption, recently announced that it has launched a national search for its next chief executive officer.
The search follows the recent announcement that former President and CEO Ryan Hanlon departed NCFA to serve as director of the Children’s Bureau at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and that Amy Wolfe has been appointed by the board to serve as NCFA’s Interim CEO.
NCFA’s board of directors has appointed a search firm, Sterling Martin, and has engaged in a comprehensive process to identify a visionary leader who will guide the organization into its next chapter. “The board is seeking a candidate with strong nonprofit leadership experience, a commitment to evidence-based policy, and a deep understanding of adoption, child welfare, and family policy,” says Andrea Vavonese, chair of the NCFA board of directors. “We encourage those who may be interested in the open CEO position to apply here.”
During the transition period, NCFA will continue its core work without interruption, including policy advocacy, research, education, and convening stakeholders across the adoption ecosystem. The organization remains focused on advancing policies that remove barriers to adoption, support adoptive families, and ensure that every child can thrive in a safe, permanent, loving family.
