Adoption of Children with Special Needs
Many children placed for adoption have a special need. It’s critical that prospective adoptive parents understand the decisions and commitments they’re making, so they can be well-informed about the choice of how to grow their family. Likewise, adoption professionals should be equipped to help families discern if they have sufficient resources to meet children’s needs and to help guide families and children into placements that are a good fit for all. In partnership with staff from agency member Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children, this course focuses on providing relevant information about special needs adoption, so professionals and parents can make educated decisions for all involved.
