Help NCFA : Internship & Volunteer

Get involved with NCFA!

Join NCFA as a volunteer.

At NCFA, our mission is to find loving, permanent families for children, and we rely on our volunteers to help further our mission by meeting our goals quickly and efficiently.  We are currently accepting applications for volunteers in one or more of our four departments, including:  Training and Agency Services, Communications, Development, and Government Relations.

Volunteers are generally asked to work independently and remotely, but may be asked from time-to-time to work out of our office (only if you live nearby) or to assist with planning and/or executing an off-site event.

A passion for children and adoption is a must.  Highly-motivated, creative individuals with a general knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and Internet preferred.

All volunteer positions are unpaid.  Please direct all inquiries about our volunteer program to Lauren Ridenour at lridenour@adoptioncouncil.org or (703) 299-6633.

Apply for an internship with NCFA.

NCFA offers an excellent opportunity for students to join our mission to find loving, permanent families for children while obtaining school credit, when applicable.  Interns have the choice of working in one or more of our departments, including: Training and Agency Services, Communications, Development, and Government Relations.  Applicants will work with his/her assigned department to advocate for and educate the public on the positive option of adoption.

A passion for children and adoption is a must.  Students with an interest in adoption, non-profits or charitable organizations, social work, fundraising, communications or policy are preferred.

NCFA accepts internship applications year-round.  Please direct all inquiries about our internship program to Sarah Yaklic at syaklic@adoptioncouncil.org or (703) 299-6633.
